Musings by The Poet Loriet

The Deflowering

Eyes peer through gauzy curtains
into a velvet, smooth jazz night.
Penetrating silence
enables my mind to travel
to distant lands, faraway thoughts,
as I lounge in love's quietude.

The blue-kissed candle flame
illuminates your face;
rugged and shadowy,
 in need of a shave.
I close my eyes to savor
succulent, flaky lobster.

The hot drawn butter
drips onto my eager tongue.
I swirl the honeyed liquid
and meditate upon
how it will taste...
longing to drink your sweet
nectar.

I am hypnotized
by your sensual mouth.
As you speak,
I concentrate on the
deep, guttural sound
your words make...
how you moan
deeply into the
curves of my throat
as we dance.

A perfect red rose
sits among a sea of elegant china
and multi-faceted crystal;
its petals creating tender layers
ripe for exploration...
Oh, what secrets must be veiled
within its fragile, quivering intricacies!

I imbibe the moment's ambience
as a sigh escapes and lingers.
I involuntarily tremble.
I want you...
to unfold my petals
and inhale my sweet incense
as your gently lowered eyes
casually undress me.

The bubbly champagne
is working its heady magic,
(you know what it does to me)
clouding my thoughts...
and igniting a flame
that begs on bended knee
to be extinguished.

My wings are outstretched
and poised for flight...
Catch me.
This angel is about to

       fall

   from grace.
